Welcome to PIP Press

Created as an entity under Power in the Pen Writing Workshop Inc., Power in the Pen Press (PIP Press) allows our authors to be published through a digital press for free. It also helps create our anthology series, which showcases work created by the members throughout each year.

Eligibility for submitting your work to PIP Press requirements are the following:


  1. You must help raise funds by participating in our annual gala or selling anthologies
  2. You must be a member of PIPWW for more than six months.
  3. You must pay the $25.00 membership fee.
  4. You must attend at least 20 workshops via Zoom or in person at Brownsville Heritage House. No exceptions.

Use the following guidelines to submit your work once Miss Wright-Lewis has agreed

that you are ready for editing.


Guidelines

  1. Your manuscript must be copyrighted,
  2. Your manuscript must be a double-spaced Microsoft Word document,
  3. Pages must be numbered
  4. It must have a title page with your name centered at the bottom
  5. Your name and the title should also appear in the header of each page,
  6. You should email your manuscript to Ms. Wright-Lewis via powerinthepen581@gmail.com and the editor she has chosen,
  7. You will communicate with the editor to set up a schedule to work on completing your book.
  8. You must create a 200-word description of your book, including its purpose and the genre.
  9. You must complete the Illustrator’s form to describe your vision for your book unless you already have one. If so, submit your cover page by the end of the process.


Power in the Pen WW Inc. is a nonprofit organization created to assist past and present

Brownsville community members in writing and publishing their stories. We seek the

assistance of grants and generous donors to pay the editing team, illustrators, book

designers, and publishers to achieve our goal.
